Hormonal Testing  

What It Is

Hormonal testing for men includes laboratory blood tests used to assess hormone levels related to reproductive function, such as FSH, LH, testosterone, prolactin and oestradiol.  

Why It Is Performed

These tests help identify hormonal imbalances that may affect spermatogenesis, potency, libido and overall reproductive health.  

When It Is Recommended

Hormonal testing may be recommended in cases of abnormal semen analysis results, suspected male factor infertility, low testosterone, reduced sexual desire, or other signs of endocrine imbalance.  

How It Is Performed / Preparation

The tests are performed using a venous blood sample, usually taken in the morning. For some markers, fasting and prior consultation with a specialist may be recommended.
